A Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the Quality Process ensuring that the quality tools are of the correct type and sufficient quality, quality-checking of the goods produced or procured to verify that they are up to the company's standards, maintaining NCM records, and making recommendations for systematic changes for the purpose of improving quality. They are concerned with both the quality standards outlined by the organization and general industry standards. They are entrusted by the company to help create a quality system that will produce a consistent flow of high quality products for the company, thereby reducing rework and assembly time, for improved costs. The QA Specialist will ensure Divisional and Departmental supervisors understand the expectations required for Quality Assurance.
Essential Functions
- Establish inspection tool certification process, maintain records, make new tool recommendations if necessary, and maintain tool inventory.
- Records number and types of defect noticed or encountered while sampling some products
- Performs regular quality check on the incoming goods to ensure they are what that is required
- Recommends outright rejection of goods or products that fall short of the standards of the organization or quality control regulatory body. Final determination by others.
- Keeps record of inspections for future reference
- Works with blueprints and plans to know how the needed quality could be accomplished.
- Maintain the Non-Conformance Procedure in E2.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and work instructions, as applicable.
- Knowledge of and experienced with the use of all types of quality checking devices such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints well for the purpose of checking quality, such as tolerances, dimensions, etc.
- Effective communication
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday days. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experienced with measurement tools, quality checking.
- Record of tool inventory and certifications
