Job Description
BikeLink™ is seeking a Field Technician to service and maintain electronic bike lockers at Seattle, WA, locations. The scope of work includes regularly scheduled service visits, working with technical support, and coordinating with parking enforcement staff at BikeLink™ headquarters.
This is not a full-time job. This is a part-time employment opportunity with an average of 12-20 hours per month or 160-250 hours per year.
Requirements:
Comfortable with sticking to protocols and communicating frequently and clearly.
Your own vehicle and basic hand tools, including cordless drill with ½” chuck.
Detail-oriented and well-organized.
Patient and focused.
Reliable place to receive packages.
Ability to deploy within 24 hours in the infrequent event of urgent service calls.
Preferred:
Love bikes and people who bike.
Experience interfacing with the public.
IT experience.
Knowledge of hardware and electrical work. Experience using a multimeter. Experience using and fixing computers.
Previous experience as an independent Field Technician.
Scope of Work:
Regular coordination with our Service Manager.
Monitor online problem reports for your region. Our BikeLink main office and call center staff typically create these reports.
Perform regularly scheduled service visits, including troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and software upgrades. The schedule for these service visits is very flexible. Typically, the Service Coordinator will contact you two weeks before the work is done and then work with you to devise a schedule that suits your availability. Work is preferred during normal business hours, but we can sometimes accommodate after-hours work. We provide detailed service manuals, knowledgeable support staff, and replacement parts. The Service Coordinator will offer support during each site visit.
Infrequent urgent service calls requiring a response within 24 hours.
Immediate documentation of service performed and problems found using our online problem report and service visit system.
Coordination with our BikeLink enforcement and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Diligent quality control checks at each service visit.
