Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Introduction:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator. As a pivotal member of our healthcare facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination and communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. Fluent in both English and Spanish, you will serve as a bridge to facilitate effective communication with our diverse patient population, ensuring their understanding and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Surgical Scheduling, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-up appointments for orthopedic procedures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing comprehensive information regarding surgical procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care guidelines in both English and Spanish.
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Facilitate insurance verification and authorization processes, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing necessary support throughout their surgical journey.
• Coordinate with medical facilities and vendors to arrange necessary equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation for procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information, surgical schedules, and communication logs.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a surgical coordinator/scheduler, preferably in orthopedics.
• Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of orthopedic procedures and protocols.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical coordination/Scheduling, or related field.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations and multicultural environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical billing practices is preferred.

Pay: $23.66 - $24.34 per hour
