Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish)
Introduction:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator. As a pivotal member of our healthcare facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination and communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. Fluent in both English and Spanish, you will serve as a bridge to facilitate effective communication with our diverse patient population, ensuring their understanding and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Surgical Scheduling, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-up appointments for orthopedic procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing comprehensive information regarding surgical procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care guidelines in both English and Spanish.
- Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Facilitate insurance verification and authorization processes, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are complete and accurate.
- Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing necessary support throughout their surgical journey.
- Coordinate with medical facilities and vendors to arrange necessary equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation for procedures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information, surgical schedules, and communication logs.

Qualifications:
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a surgical coordinator/scheduler, preferably in orthopedics.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of orthopedic procedures and protocols.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical coordination/Scheduling, or related field.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and multicultural environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical billing practices is preferred.
