Bht- Behavioral Health Technician

Responsibilities:The Behavioral Health Technician provides rehabilitative and peer support services for assigned clients with oversight from clinical management staff. The primary focus of this position is assisting clients in a group setting working with a population of clients with a primary SMI or co-occurring disorder designation. Duties include life skills training, psychoeducational rehabilitation services including clinical documentation in EHR and meal preparation. The Floater is an entry level BHT position supporting Group Facilitators in 2-3 group rooms, 1:1 engagement with higher acuity clients, covering group facilitation responsibilities when assigned group facilitator asks/needs to step out, de-escalation of difficult client behaviors, outreach, and clinical documentation of all the above as needed. BHT Floaters are expected to train and prepare for open group facilitator positions within 30-60 days.Services may include, but are not limited to: Group facilitation, assisting in developing treatment plans and recovery services, life skills education, behavior management/modification, and development of linkages to community resources.Education/Experience:•Minimum of a GED/High school diploma with 1 year of experience in the field of Behavioral Health with focus on assisting others in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders.•A paraprofessional with training or certification in a Recovery Support Specialist or Recovery Coach Program.•Has remained substance-free for a minimum of one year following treatment.•Is at least 21 years of age.•Pass pre-employment drug screening.•Able to take direction from management team.•Knowledge of the dynamics of mental illness and/or substance abuse and relapse prevention and recovery tools;•Knowledge of, and the ability to connect clients with community resources;•Strong written and verbal communication skills;•Organizational, time management and computer skills;•Experience completing progress notes and comprehensive clinical documentation.This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is:Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneousPeople-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projectsAdaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directionDetail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger pictureAchievement-oriented -- enjoys taking on challenges, even if they might failAutonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little directionInnovative -- prefers working in unconventional ways or on tasks that require creativityHigh stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environmentBenefits:•Dental insurance•Health insurance•Life insurance•Paid time off•Vision insuranceCOVID-19 Precaution(s):Personal protective equipment provided or required Temperature screenings.
