Tuscan Brands is searching for a dynamic Beverage Instructor for our William Sonoma Cooking School at our Tuscan Market in Tuscan Village Salem.

Being a bartender or mixology instructor requires a unique set of skills and abilities beyond just the knowledge of drinks. Here are some key skills and qualities that can contribute to success in this role:

Extensive Knowledge of Beverages:

• A thorough understanding of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including different types of spirits, liqueurs, wines, beers, and mixers.

Mixology Skills:

• Proficiency in the art of mixology, including the ability to create innovative and visually appealing cocktails. This involves knowing the right proportions, techniques, and presentation.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal communication skills are crucial for instructing and explaining concepts effectively. Instructors should be able to convey information clearly to students and answer questions in a comprehensible manner.

Teaching Ability:

• The capability to design and deliver engaging and informative lessons. This includes adapting teaching methods to different learning styles and providing constructive feedback.

Patience:

• Teaching can be challenging, and patience is essential when working with students who may have varying levels of experience and learning speeds.

Organizational Skills:

• Efficiently organizing and planning lessons, tastings, and other educational activities. This also includes managing time effectively during practical sessions.

Passion for the Craft:

• A genuine passion for bartending and mixology is infectious and can inspire students. Instructors who love what they do are more likely to motivate and engage their students.

Industry Knowledge:

• Staying updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging techniques. This ensures that instructors provide relevant and current information to their students.

People Skills:

• Building rapport with students and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This includes fostering a sense of community among students and encouraging collaboration.

Creativity:

• Creativity is essential in mixology, and it's equally important for instructors. Developing new teaching methods, creating interesting lesson plans, and encouraging students to think creatively about drink creation are all valuable.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Being able to troubleshoot and address challenges that may arise during practical sessions or in the learning process.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour
