Beverage And Wine Assistant

As a Beverage and Wine Assistant, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A guest’s wine/cocktail or bar experience should be equally enjoyable as their food experience. Organizational skills, consistent quality and service delivery, the ability to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure are essential. Also, being responsive and guest sensitive as well as, possessing a good sense of timing are important.

Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist Bartender in making each guest feel welcomed and attended to.
• Work as a team with all of the 1000 NORTH staff in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Assist Sommeliers with reviewing products received for accuracy.
• Appearance of bar: area must be clean, stocked and bottles and glasses arranged to maintain an attractive display in agreement with the 1000 NORTH standards at all times.
• Assist with organization of Wine Room, assisting with deliveries and ensuring stock levels are up to par.
• Garnish and serve drinks for guests of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
• Clear tables when customers leave in the Tavern and Terrence
• Reset tables in accordance with established standards in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible. Remove full tubs from bar to dishwashing area for cleaning, and maintains a clean, well-stocked and orderly bus station at all times in order to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware and utensils from the dish room and distribute to bar in order to keep a ready supply available for restaurant use.
• Sweep floors throughout shift to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive restaurant.
• Maintain clean glassware and assist Bartenders in re-stocking all bar supplies.
• Assists Tavern and Terrence by refilling customer beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items or clean/fresh tableware.
• Keeps ice stations filled at all times by carrying buckets of ice from the main ice machine and pouring into individual ice stations.
• Keeps water bottles filled and stocked throughout shift.
• Knowledge of the 1000 NORTH food & beverage menu and specifications
• Maintain a positive, pleasant, attitude every shift
• Other duties as directed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Barback: 1 year (Preferred)
• Restaurant: 1 year (Preferred)
• Guest Service: 1 year (Preferred)
