About the Position
Administers and coordinates human resources activities, specifically is responsible for all employee benefits, as well as weekly payroll activities. In addition, in coordination with the HR Assistant, this position also administers other HR activities such as, hiring, handbook compliance, labor relations, training, event planning and associate services by performing the following duties. Works under moderate supervision, is a flexible team player and reports to CFO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, as well as life, disability, employee assistance and other insurances, including coordinating the benefit open enrollments each year
- Manages all other benefits as stated in handbook (for example Vacation, other forms of leave), as well as leave requirements per statutory standards (for example FMLA)
- Prepares and submits weekly payroll for all company associates, ensuring total accuracy with all documentation approved and reconciled, including reviews of time and attendance records to ensure policy compliance
- Maintains associate & Payroll records, including administering the human resource software, utilizing automated/online functions where possible
- Rewards associates through incentive and reward programs (e.g. bonuses and gift card awards)
- Creates and distributes internal communications/presentations/reporting regarding company policies, benefits, upcoming events, etc.. Utilizes these communications to celebrate and recognize associate achievements
- Plans, promotes, coordinates, and attends all associate events (on-site & off-site)
- Provides associate and management support by responding to inquiries, complaints and/or compliance issues regarding policies, procedures, and programs, in a timely and friendly manner.
- Assists Plan Administrator with 401k / retirement plan administration and reporting requirements
- Recruits, interviews, and selects associates to fill vacant positions (includes working with contracted staffing agency). Plans and conducts new associate orientation
- Engages in Safety Leadership practices, assists with all worker’s compensation and safety reporting
- Work closely with third party consultants to ensure HR / Safety compliance
- Assists in administering associate training & development, KPO and performance review programs, keeps training records up-to-date
- Assists in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions, ensuring appropriate personnel record documentation. Prepares associate separation notices and related documentation. Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
- Assists with ensuring compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance Additional duties as assigned

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 1-3 years of related experience (Human Resources, Customer Service)
- Experience: 1+ years of payroll & benefits processing experience
- Proficiency with HRMS/HRIS/Payroll systems, or other documentation/processing systems
- HR Certifications requiring continuous education
- Bilingual English/Spanish
