Position Summary
Christopher Ranch is a food processing facility in the Agriculture Industry. The BENEFITS COORDINATOR is responsible for administering professional-level work, programs, and policies in the benefits division of the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to administration of protected leaves interactions, retirement plans, sick leaves, other protective leaves, reasonable accommodations, invoice reconciliation, and return to work. The BENEFITS COORDINATOR maintains strict confidentiality with highly sensitive business and employee information, and company records.
The ideal candidate will assist by consulting with Human Resource leadership associated with benefits administration. Interprets operating policies and procedures through critical thinking, analysis, and complex problem-solving ability. Exercises independent judgment in the resolution of benefits and administrative problems. Possesses a positive, professional work attitude. Bi-lingual/Bi-literate Spanish required.
Pay Rate: $27.00 – $29.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, researches, and evaluates programs and policies and performs professional work in Benefits Administration.
- Assist in coordinating general office appointment setting, help maintain record keeping, audits, answer, and returns calls in the Personnel office and other HR administrative activities.
- Proficiently operates standard office equipment, including a computer, a variety of computer platforms, HRIS system, and other office equipment that require continuous and repetitive eye and arm or hand movement.
- Performs research on new programs, audits, practices, techniques, and trends in the benefits administration field; develops programs, policies, and practices related to benefits administration; prepares reports and makes recommendations to initiate new programs or improve existing programs; implements as directed.
- Assist in negotiating benefit vendor contracts, retirement plans, Health, Dental, Vision, Life, ACA, and 1095C. Conducts audits for state and federal reporting. Prepare clear and concise administrative reports for leadership review.
- Research and reviews current legislation related to benefits administration; makes recommendations to Human Resources leadership on courses of action. Conducts research on projects as assigned; coordinates benefit-related activities with other departments as needed.
- Coordinates benefits administration, wellness programs, health fairs, open enrollment, department meetings, and other special projects. Collaborates with department leadership regarding issues related to benefits administration.
- May assist in developing, planning, organizing, and conduct benefit training programs for appropriate staff members.
- Attends and participates in professional meetings and stays informed of new trends and innovations in the field of Human Resources Benefits Administration with updated information.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as needed.
Knowledge of:
Modern principles and practices of Human Resource Administration and Employment Labor Law in local Federal and State, regulations. Advanced principles, methods, and techniques of assigned area of responsibility in the benefits administration, research and data analysis methods and techniques.
Ability to:
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, actions and implement recommendations in support of benefits administration goals.

Minimum Qualifications Education, Experience, Skills) & Special Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, AA/AS, BA/BS, in Human Resources or a combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional level experience, preferably in Benefits Administration.
- Proficient and demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite email Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Human Resources Information Systems HRIS, and database management and similar computer applications.
- Excellentinterpersonal relationship building, and customer service skills. Such as communication ability by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (Bi-lingual/Bi-literate Spanish Required).
- Speaking — Talking ability to convey information effectively. Able to exchange non-routine information using skill and persuasion as appropriate.
