Corporate Office Location: Los Angeles, CA (looking for Los Angeles based candidates)

MMChr is seeking a Benefits/Cobra/401K Coordinator to join our top notch Team. The primary responsibility of this position is assisting clients with all benefits related needs which includes:

  • Answers telephone inquiries of clients, employees and vendors regarding benefit information.
  • Assist with processing of enrollments, changes and terminations for clients specific to plan options.
  • Inputs client and employee benefit deductions as appropriate.
  • Assist in the Open Enrollment process of our benefit plans for all clients, including preparation of enrollment packets to employees, collecting forms and processing data.
  • Assist with benefit deduction audits on a pay period basis.
  • Assist the Benefit Reconciliation Clerk regarding any billing or enrollment changes, terminations, new additions or discrepancies on plans as needed.
  • Assist manager to create and maintain documented department procedures and processes.
  • Provide employees with information of current plan options.
  • Assist in Cobra and Leave of Absence administration
  • Process COBRA election notices, premium payments, and terminations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate notifications to eligible individuals regarding their COBRA continuation rights.
  • Maintain detailed records of COBRA elections and communicate effectively with participants, employers, and insurance carriers.
  • Manage the COBRA premium billing process, including collecting payments and tracking delinquencies.
  • Reconcile COBRA accounts and generate reports as needed.
  • Address inquiries from participants and employers regarding COBRA eligibility and continuation options.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant COBRA regulations and best practices.

401K Administrative responsibilities:

  • Plan Management: Oversee all aspects of the 401(k) plan, including eligibility, contribution limits, vesting schedules, and investment options.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date on complex ERISA regulations and ensure the plan operates in accordance with federal and state laws. Conduct regular testing to guarantee the plan doesn't discriminate against any employee group.
  • Enrollment & Education: Facilitate employee enrollment in the plan, answer their questions, and provide educational resources to help them make informed investment decisions.
  • Administration: Manage day-to-day operations, including processing contributions, loan requests, and distributions. Reconcile accounts, generate reports, and liaise with the recordkeeper and investment provider.
  • Participant Communication: Clearly communicate plan details and updates to employees, ensuring they understand their options and benefits.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities;

  • 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and UKG Ready (HRIS software)
  • Experience with preparing reports
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively
  • Ability to perform complex administrative tasks involving use of independent good judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidential client and employee data and information
  • Bilingual (Spanish, a plus but not required)
