Bench Jeweler

Job Summary

The Bench Jeweler is a skilled professional responsible for designing, crafting , repairing and maintaining jewelry pieces. They work with precious metals, diamonds and and gemstones to create intricate designs and bring clients' visions to life. This job requires a keen eye for detail, precision, and expertise in jewelry making techniques. A Bench Jeweler typically works in a jewelry store or workshop, and may also provide customer service and sales support.

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble jewelry pieces according to design specifications

- Use hand tools and power tools to shape, cut, and polish metals and gemstones, including open flame (torch)

- Inspect finished pieces for quality and accuracy

- Repair damaged jewelry by soldering, resizing, or replacing stones

- Collaborate with designers and clients to create custom jewelry pieces

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

-Perform routine maintenance on jewelry making equipment to ensure it operates properly

-Maintain accurate records

Requirements:

-A minimum of four years of Bench Jeweler experience in a retail jewelry store or jewelry manufacturing facility is required. Journeyman level of experience is required, master Bench Jeweler level preferred

- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude

- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools

- Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship

-CAD design experience preferred

-Ability to carve waxes and cast precious metals

-Attention to safety- knowledge of hazards associated with each chemical/tool/ machine

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
