St. Michael's Harbour, a non-profit located in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, is committed to work with adults who cope with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities.
Our mission is to assist our participants in discovering and then using their their strengths and talents to promote self-determination, and to explore and experience meaningful opportunities in their every day lives.
A Skill Builder:
- Uses evidenced-based methods to help the participant acquire skills that promote independence and integration into the community, which are not behavioral in focus.
- Develops and promotes consistent implementation of the Skill Building Plan (SBP) across environments.
- Completes progress reports, trains and supports team members.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, education or human services field related to social work.
- Experience in dual diagnosis (mental health, developmental, intellectual disorders) is desired.
- The agency will also assist the right candidate in obtaining required Pennsylvania ODP trainings/certifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge and experience with Excel and Microsoft Word is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- Act 33-34, FBI clearances and college transcripts.
While a knowledge of working with adults with disabilities is desired, we are looking for individuals who have a genuine commitment to community work and a passion for service to others.
St. Michael's has a team approach. The successful candidate needs to have the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a treatment team.
St. Michael's Harbour offers mileage reimbursement.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
