As a Behavioral Health Specialist - Behavior Analyst with our nonprofit, you're responsible for developing and implementing programs or activities designed to improve the lives of children with autism and their families. You individualize each treatment plan according to the client's unique needs to assist in enhancing their quality of life by acknowledging weaknesses to overcome and strengths to build on. Through routine communication, you encourage the client's family and friends to get involved in the client's treatment to help them maintain skills learned in therapy sessions.

Using program criteria and standardized tests, you conduct assessments to identify the skill levels of our child clients as well as create evaluation reports incorporating assessment tools, caregiver reports, and professional reports. You coach clients or family members on how to incorporate new skills into normal routines at home and in other natural environments, including school, childcare centers, church, playgroups, or a relative's home.
Based on the initial plan of care, you also develop short- and long-term treatment goals, plans, and objectives for your clients as well as make weekly updates to the plan based on your client's progress. You always ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures when engaging with clients and reporting their information. As needed, you also provide supervision to our ABA trainees and serve as a case manager for students in our programs. Having a job that combines your passion for education and psychology brings you great fulfillment, and you take great pride in knowing you're good at what you do!
