BHG is the largest network of Joint Commission accredited outpatient opioid treatment and recovery centers operating almost 120 locations in 24 states, and counting. Responsibilities
  • In-Depth processing of manual and ERA payments and adjustments received while ensuring all deposits are balanced daily for all centers.
  • Performs bank reconciliations with assistance of the accounting department, tracking of cash by center and maintenance of cash reports.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and clarify research requests to determine potential payment issues.
  • Perform extensive primary and secondary research to locate missing EOB's and insurance payments for posting to accounts.
  • Works in multiple systems ensuring all insurance payments are accurately posted and reconciled.
  • Research and resolve deposit and/or posting discrepancies.
  • Assists management to communicate pertinent information to another team members.
  • Performs cash management operations involving payment receipt, processing, deposits and other duties with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the controls, balances, and deposits of daily cash receipts to maximize return.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations impacting cash management services.
  • Prepare daily and monthly cash reports.
  • Identify underpayments and overpayments/credits to determine steps for resolution.
  • Retrieve missing payment information from payers through various methods (phone, payer portals, clearing houses, etc.)
  • Must be able to read debits and credits on accounts and take necessary action to resolve.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of medical billing (coding), collections, Payment Posting and reconciliation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Commercial Plans
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities as it relates to medical billing, collections and Payment Posting
  • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Basic knowledge of clinical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
  • Ability to read and understand different Explanation of Benefits.
  • Ability to read and understand HCFA regulations, HIPPA compliance and updates with each state.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to adhere to policy and procedures set company wide and inter-departmentally.
  • Ability to meet production and quality standards set forth by department.
  • Willing to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Flexible with assigned tasks
  • Be a productive member of the staff.
