Job description

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
  2. Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with client families. Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate Behavioral Health and other needed services including, but not limited to, community coordination, outreach, and referrals.
  3. Responsible for maintaining an electronic record which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
  4. Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
  5. Responsible for full compliance of clients on caseload will have CAFAS/PECFAS/LOCUS completed minimally every 6 months or as identified in clinical record.
  6. Provides 24/7 crisis intervention availability on a rotation basis to help offset potential risk of self-harm or conditions which could lead to out of home treatment.
  7. Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with funder requirements as well as Easterseals MORC policies and procedures.
  8. Responsible for assessing, reviewing all requests for services and authorizing medically necessary services for all individuals served. Only implements therapeutic modalities approved by Easterseals MORC Michigan.
  9. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care and co-occurring disorders.
  10. Willingness to support and assist individuals served with trauma related issues utilizing TFCBT, CBITS and/or trauma-informed practices.
  11. Attend school meetings/provide consultation regarding mutual individuals served
  12. Maintain school partnerships by respecting school policies and personnel, speaking the language within schools, ie PBIS, MTSS, etc.
  13. Provide community trainings and/or participate in community/school events to promote Easterseals MORC services
  14. Use data to make caseload decisions; determine training needs within a school/community
  15. Is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effects. Has the ability to utilize different systems of communication with internal and external customers such as Microsoft Teams, eVisit, Zoom and iPhone. Has ability to use internal programs such as EMR, Microsoft Excel, Office 365 and PowerPoint to maintain data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work; AND Have an LMSW from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services; OR
  2. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling; AND Have a (LPC) from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services AND
  3. Must meet qualifications of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Mental Health Professional (MHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications per Medicaid Services
  4. The following must be met for those working with the OSAS Individuals served:
    1. Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); AND have a current registered development plan leading to certifications with timely implementation, OR currently functioning under a time-limited exception plan approved by the Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency (SACA); OR
    2. Possess one of the following Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) or International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC & RC) credentials:
      1. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Michigan (CADC-M)
      2. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
      3. Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC)
      4. Certified Criminal Justice Professional - IC & RC (CCJP-R)
      5. Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomat - IC & RC (CCDP-D); OR
      6. Certification through the Upper Midwest Indian Council on Addiction Disorders
  5. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license; AND
  6. Possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse); AND
  7. Must possess/obtain 24 documented training hours relative to Child Diagnostic Treatment Services (CDTS) within 3-months of employment AND maintain 24 documented training hours relative to CDTS annually thereafter (within any 12-month period); AND
  8. Must be CAFAS Certified within the first 3-months of employment and maintain ongoing certification
