POSITION SUMMARY
Behavioral coach provides support and guidance to people who are struggling with mild or moderate mental health concerns like anxiety and depression. The Behavioral Coach position is responsible for the skills training of both the child and parent participants in a variety of techniques and methods to improve client behaviors. The focus of the skills training for the client will be to teach appropriate socialization skills within a group of peers and others in the community. These children will be 6-17 years of age. Additionally, the Behavior Coach will implement behavior intervention plans focused on decreasing disruptive and maladaptive child behaviors that interfere with successful social experiences. The Behavior Coach will also be available for individual consultation with parents who need assistance with implementing teaching strategies and behavior management approaches at home in between the weekly group meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Education or related field or 1-year direct experience working with children, adolescents or families with behavioral difficulties.
- A working knowledge and experience implementing behavioral interventions.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under automobile insurance policy.
- Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card, CPR and First Aid.
- Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish preferred, and as appropriate to population served.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete the agency’s orientation and demonstrate competence regarding skills and knowledge.
- Must maintain a professional appearance (business casual attire) and demonstrate appropriate time-management skills to include being punctual.
- Must possess excellent phone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be customer service driven and demonstrate the ability to multi-task.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
