After School Child Care Enrichment Specialist
M & M Extra Care is a Before/After School and Summer Camp program located within select area elementary schools.

We are currently looking for qualified and motivated Enrichment Specialists for our South Pointe and Fortis locations in Ypsilanti. Our Aftercare Specialists work at least 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 pm), with additional Before School hours possibly available from 6:00 to 8:30 am, plus paid planning and training time. Specialists are asked to commit to the full school year.

We desire responsible, self-motivated, creative, caring, patient and hardworking individuals to join our team. We ask applicants to commit to a full school year at a minimum and summer camp hours are also available. Many team members have stayed with us several years and growth opportunities are provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school Diploma or GED. Experience working with groups of school age youth, such as in a childcare setting, facilitating a classroom, church youth groups, summer camps or coaching sports teams, is preferred. The current open positions are in our Kindergarden/First grade classrooms, so early childhood experience would also be helpful.

Our programs run September through mid-June, along with summer program opportunities in June through August. Shifts can vary during summer camp.

As an Enrichment Specialist you will:

• Work directly with students, leading activities in the classroom
• Work with the Site Director and other staff to foster a safe and effective environment for school-age children
• Be assigned your own classroom of students within a select age group ranging from Young-Fives through 8th grades (depending on personal training and/or interest)
• Develop weekly lesson plans of activities including Social Emotional Learning, STEAM, group games, arts and crafts and other developmentally appropriate activities for that group of children
• Professional Development will be provided and will include:
• Annual Fall Training during the month of August
• Recurring paid on-line training throughout the year
• Annual CPR/First Aid training
