Position Summary

Responsible for assuring all batches of concrete are well mixed and checked for moisture retention, assure that proper amount of concrete is being batched for appropriate delivery area. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Operate batch computer and equipment to weigh and mix aggregate, cement, and water to produce concrete

Ensures safe and efficient operation of the plant through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the concrete plant.

Will assist in plant maintenance operations, cleaning mixer and surrounding areas thoroughly.

Will properly record and order materials needed daily.

Observes gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.

Load concrete into trucks. Assure appropriate tickets are written for orders according to requirements.

Work with appropriate personnel to identify and plan daily operations.

Assist in directing, overseeing, and assuring the work of Plant personnel and Concrete Truck Drivers

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED; and 
• 3 years previous experience in fields related to construction/construction products; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 

Certificates, Licenses

• Certifications listed below are preferred, but not required upon start. Must be able to obtain certifications by completing requirements of the programs and passing the required tests in a reasonable time period after hire.
  • American Concrete Institute Certification (ACI)
  • Forklift
  • Loader
  • Aerial Lift

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of aspects of operating large capacity batch plants including material handling and sampling.
• Proficient knowledge of operating computer systems.
• Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
