SalaryBasketball Referee $20/hour
PickUp USA Basketball Gym in Irwindale, CA, is hiring for referee positions. The position pays $20/hour and includes a consistent schedule with 3-4 hour evening and weekend shifts. Knowledge of the basic rules of basketball is required. Previous ref experience is a plus, but not mandatory. We provide a paid training program.PickUp USA referees officiate our adult recreation basketball games that are ten (10) minutes long with two (2) minute breaks in between. We are looking for individuals who can consistently hustle up and down the court for the duration of the 3-4 hour shifts.Punctuality, hustle, and professionalism are the qualities we are looking for in this position.New refs typically start with 1-2 shifts per week and earn more shifts as they excel within the position.
Responsibilities:
- Officiate basketball games and enforce rules and regulations
- Ensure fair play and sportsmanship among players
- Make accurate calls and decisions during the game
- Communicate with coaches, players, and spectators in a professional manner
- Manage conflicts or disputes that may arise during the game
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sports coaching or officiating, preferably in basketball
- Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations
- Ability to work with adults and maintain a positive and encouraging environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with coaches, players, and spectators
- Strong conflict management skills to handle any disputes or disagreements that may occur during the game
