Wilde Pizzeria and Wine Bar is looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial sprit to run the bar program specializing in wine. This concept will operate at nights only (we are a brunch spot during the day).
Looking for talented individuals who want to assist with all facets of operations including menu planning, ordering, events, tastings, marketing, and more!
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional wine service to guests, including recommendations and pairings
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of wines, including regions, varietals, and vintages
- Assist with wine list development and updates
- Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairing menus
- Ensure proper storage and handling of wines
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new wine releases
Experience:
- Previous experience as a sommelier or in a similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Strong knowledge of different types of wines, including regions, varietals, and vintages
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and service standards
- Excellent sales skills and ability to upsell wine offerings
- Knowledge of brewing techniques and beer pairings is a plus
- Proficiency in food handling and safety regulations
- Bartending experience is beneficial for cocktail/wine bar environments
- Experience in food service or catering is advantageous
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for pricing and inventory management
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
