Summary
The Bartender/Server/Food Services Attendant is responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly and productive manner. They play an important role creating an environment of premium hospitality. This position must be team oriented and have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor. Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcohol in the state of Florida.
This position will receive additional compensation as a percentage of service fees collected on all sales, to be paid out on their paycheck bi-weekly. Service fees distributions will be determined based on the number of hours worked and total sales accumulated per pay period. Service fees will be collected on both daily dining and group/special event dining.
Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for both pre & post bar set-up/breakdown and restocking responsibilities in a timely manner
- Serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner
- Provides information to help food and beverage selections
- Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner
- Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude
- Complete inventory replenishment during shift
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Attentive to guests needs throughout the entire shift
- Concludes patron experience by acknowledging choice of venue and inviting patrons to return
- Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons using our POS system for all transactions
- Responsible for claiming all cash and credit card tips
- Identifies and reports any safety issues immediately to direct supervisor.
- Understands and follows all cash handling policies set forth by the City of Palm Beach Gardens
- Reports of needed repairs or unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor
- Maintains security of equipment, keys, badges, and supplies as issued by supervisor
- Follows all City and Club Policies while on property
- Ensure the proper balancing of the register after the end of each shift
- Takes orders from patrons at all areas where food and drinks are served including the Concession Café, upstairs or downstairs bar, driving range and driving range bays, multipurpose rooms for special events, conference room, walk-up window, on-course, and all other related golf facilities at The Nest
- Cooking and/or heating simple foods and preparing daily food items including, but not limited to, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, specialty coffees/cappuccinos, breakfast sandwiches, simple fried foods, and wraps/paninis
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2 years’ experience working as a bartender or server
- Certification as a mixologist from a bartending school preferred
Special Qualifications/Preferences
- ServSafe® Food Handler Certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Florida Alcohol Seller and Server Certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record
Pension Plan:Provided through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Choice between the Investment Plan with a one (1) year vesting schedule, and the Pension Plan with an eight (8) year vesting schedule. Mandatory 3% pre-tax contribution.
