James Beard award-winning chef Paul Berglund is looking for a great Bartender/Server for his new Ada restaurant, Myrth. Berglund’s new restaurant is driven and inspired by the seasons and the food grown by our West Michigan farmers. This is a gathering place, instilled with a casual sophistication and warm Midwestern hospitality. Above all, it is focused on the crafts of food, drink, and hospitality.

The Bartender/Server position must possess maturity, the spirit of collaboration, a passion for people and hospitality, and the ability and desire to execute a high quality beverage program.
What you’ll do:
The Bartender/Server position is responsible for providing excellence in hospitality. This includes:
● Understand and uphold Myrth’s Purpose and Principles
● Carry yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times
● Provide all functions associated with bartending and serving, including order taking, POS entry, clearing the bar, resetting the bar, wine service, beer service, cocktail service, cash handling, etc.
● Know, understand, and carefully execute all of Myrth’s service standards
● Know, understand, and diligently uphold Myrth’s high standards and procedures for food safety and sanitation
● Know, understand, and uphold Myrth’s high standards for alcohol service.
● Quickly and accurately execute cocktails to Myrth specifications
● Prep and maintain clean, safe, and well-organized workstations
● Thoroughly clean workstations, work surfaces, equipment, floors, and any other items inside and outside of the restaurant, as necessary
● Maintain bar and restaurant equipment, as required
● Build strong, lasting relationships with guests
● Build strong, professional, and respectful relationships with coworkers
● Complete daily opening and closing procedures
● Complete weekly cleaning tasks
What we need from you:
● 2 years of experience in customer service, restaurant industry preferred
● Strong communication skills
● Strong organizational and multitasking skills
● Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits
● A warm, friendly, and positive personality
● A passion for hospitality and the restaurant industry as a whole
When we need you:
● Myrth is slated to open Mid-June
● Training will start Mid-May
