Job Description:
As a Budtender, your primary responsibility is to assist customers in selecting and purchasing cannabis products, ensuring a positive and informative experience. This position requires a basic understanding of cannabis, a passion for learning and educating along with customer engagement skills. Moderate computer skills are necessary to utilize POS systems. Must have a positive attitude and be team oriented. A Budtender is an integral member of the daily operations being responsible for visual presentation of products and maintain cleanliness of the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customer questions and provide information about different cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods.
- Help customers make informed decisions based on their preferences and needs.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the dispensary.
Product Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cannabis products, strains, and industry trends.
- Have a thorough understanding of the effects, benefits, and potential side effects of different cannabis products.
- Provide recommendations based on customer preferences and desired outcomes.
Sales and Transactions:
- Sell cannabis products and merchandise through customer service techniques and professional selling skills, including sharing of product knowledge and up-selling
- Accurately process customer transactions using the dispensary's point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash and electronic payments securely.
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with age restrictions and other legal requirements.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing and organizing the dispensary's inventory.
- Monitor product levels and communicate with management to reorder stock as needed.
- Ensure that all products are properly labeled and comply with regulatory requirements.
Compliance:
- Stay informed about local and state cannabis regulations and ensure adherence to them.
- Follow proper procedures for checking customer identification and maintaining a secure and compliant environment.
Cleanliness and Organization:
- Keep the dispensary clean and well-organized.
- Arrange products on shelves and displays attractively.
- Perform regular cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary environment.
Education and Awareness:
- Educate customers on responsible cannabis use and potential health considerations.
- Provide information on dosage, potency, and safe consumption methods.
- Stay informed about emerging cannabis research and share relevant information with customers.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other budtenders, management, and security staff.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are required to assist with opening/closing of store and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with local and state cannabis regulations.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (depending on local regulations).
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
- Innate desire to achieve success while working in a team environment
- High level of integrity
- Proper employment documentation and authorized to work in the US
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally lift items up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to stand for extended period of time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
