Barista/Cashier

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Front of House Specialist with barista experience to join our team. This dynamic role involves not only preparing and serving a variety of coffee-based beverages but also taking customer orders at the sales counter for our specialty soft pretzels, packaging, and decorating them to delight our customers. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee and customer service, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a flair for presentation and detail.

Duties:

• Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee-based beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and more, utilizing your barista skills to craft the perfect cup every time.
• Welcome customers, take orders at the sales counter for both coffee and soft pretzels, offering recommendations based on their preferences and ensuring a delightful customer experience.
• Package and decorate soft pretzels according to customer orders, showcasing attention to detail and a creative touch.
• Operate coffee brewing equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders, with proficiency and ease.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and sales counter areas, maintaining a welcoming and efficient workspace.
• Handle cash transactions and process orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing POS systems like Square POS.
• Assist with inventory counts of coffee, packaging supplies, and other necessary items, restocking as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a safe and clean environment for food preparation and consumption.
• Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers with a friendly demeanor, and addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism and care.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role in the food industry, with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and different coffee blends.
• Experience in customer service, order taking, and food preparation, with a preference for candidates who have worked in a front-of-house capacity.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing, alongside excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and prioritizing customer satisfaction.
• Outstanding customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
• Familiarity with Square POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus, but not required.
• Must have the ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 1 month of the date of hire, ensuring adherence to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
