Barista or Baker

Fresh Baguette is a fast-growing, artisanal bakery known for its high-quality standards and modern atmosphere. The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013 inspired by bakeries in France. We are growing and constantly looking for passionate people to join our team. We are seeking a talented and dynamic Full-Time or Part-Time Barista and a Full-Time or Part-Time Baker for its Mclean bakery cafe (6707 Old Dominion Dr #115, McLean, VA 22101).
 
Shifts as a Barista: 

• Our shifts typically start as early as 6AM and end at 4PM Monday - Friday and start as early as 6AM and end at 7PM Saturday and Sunday. 
• Morning shifts: 6AM-2PM
• Afternoon shifts: 9AM-4PM
• Weekend Afternoon shifts: 1PM-7PM
• 6-8 hour shift
• 3-5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday

Shifts as a Baker: 

• 4:45AM – 11AM/12PM (You will bake from 4:45AM-7AM, then you will be a barista from 7AM-11AM/12PM)
• 6-8 Hour shift
• 3-5 Days a week including Saturday and Sunday

As a Barista you will be:

• Providing friendly and prompt customer service
• An expert of Fresh Baguette menu offerings
• Follow recipes according to standard
• Cash and credit handling at the cash register in a fun and efficient manner
• Serving baked goods, breads, and pastries
• Making and serving coffee, sandwiches, salads with care
• Maintaining store safety, sanitation and proper food storage 
• Addressing and answering customer complaints 
• Paying close attention to the way products are displayed throughout the day and to the cleanliness of the store 
• Cleaning and prepping the store for the next day
• Closing register

 
As a Baker you will be:

• Offering product recommendations
• Baking all types of breads and baked goods
• Preparing products for the next day baking
• Organizing the freezer and fridge
• Packing away all delivery items
• Setting up the bread display
• Cleaning the baking station
• Maintaining store safety, sanitation and proper food storage 
• Making and serving baked goods, sandwiches, salads, breads, and pastries with care
• Paying close attention to the way products are displayed throughout the day and to the cleanliness of the store
• Creating long-term relationships with customers

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Open availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & mornings/afternoons
• Availability to work on Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.
• Strong Communication skills
• Reliable transportation to work--living within walking distance and/or not dependent on public transportation
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Commute of less than 25 minutes
• Experience working as a Barista or Baker is a plus

Benefits

• Compensation: Competitive pay - 20.00$ / hour to 21.00$ / hour including tip as a Barista or 21.00$ / hour to 22.00$ / hour including tip as a Baker
• Base pay as a Barista is $11.50/hr with room for growth, base pay as a Baker is $12.00/hr with room for growth
