A New Job Is Brewing!
We are looking for a self-motivated Barista that is committed to providing the best coffee to the people we care about and serve! This is a part-time position, regularly working on Saturdays, and preferably Wednesdays/Fridays at our Seward Café, located on the West Side of Grand Rapids.

IN A NUTSHELL
  • What You’ll Make: $16-$18/hr ($12 Hour + Tips. Tips average $4-$6 Per Hour)
  • What You Will Do: Serve excellent coffee for the vibrant West Side Community.
  • Perfect Ingredients for Success: Must be available to work regularly on Saturdays. Preferred open availability on Wednesday/Friday as well. Great customer service skills, and curiosity about the coffee industry. A high school diploma or GED is also required. Prior Barista experience is preferred, but not required.

THE DAILY GRIND

  • Part-time role.

  • Assist with retail inventory.
  • Fulfill customer orders in person and over the phone.
  • Manage financial transactions.

WHAT’S IN YOUR CUP
These are the qualifications we are looking for:

  • 1 Years of Experience in the Specialty Coffee Industry preferred. (Coffee experience is a plus, but not required)
  • 1 Year of Customer Service Experience
  • Professional Certification (Barista Guild of America, etc.) Encouraged.
  • Specialized Interest in Specialty Coffee, Food Service and the Hospitality Industry.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong sense of ambition.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer experiences.

  • We roast the coffee ourselves: We are proud to be a specialty coffee roaster. What this means is that we ethically source coffee and build lasting relationships with farmers all over the world. Then, we roast the coffee at our headquarters on Seward Ave. This means you get coffee straight from the source, and you can be confident you are only serving the best coffee. Fun Fact: Our coffee can be found in grocery stores all over the United States.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the position as this employee must receive orders and serve guests in our café environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and lifting less than 25 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds on occasion. The employee is required to taste/smell and makes necessary analysis of product based on taste/smell. Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the job. This position involves exposure to potential allergens.
