SUMMARY:
To provide prompt, efficient and courteous service; display friendly hospitality. Be able to read Beos, follow through on proper service and make the guest visit a memorable experience. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend pre-shift meetings.
- Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
- Maintain attendance policies set up by the hotel and banquets.
- Adhere to guidelines standards set up by the banquet department.
- Ensure proper room set-up, including initial set-up, course change/breakdown.
- Ensure tables are properly set.
- Provide food and beverage service to guests according to established standards and procedures. Follow Spec Sheet/BEO regarding delivery time and presentation of Banquet items.
- Adhere to policies and procedures and health and liquor laws.
- Know all menu service items.
- Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to guests.
- Use suggestive selling techniques.
- Be available to guests to refill beverages and resolve any additional requests.
- Pre-bus tables throughout the course of the meal.
- Sort glassware, china and silverware correctly on a bussing tray and take back to speed racks or queen mary.
- Return used linen to assigned locations.
- Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
- Inform Banquet Manager/Supervisor of any needed supplies or any items needing repaired.
- Keep station clean and organized.
- Complete assigned side work.
- When function is over, ensure proper clearing and cleaning of room.
- When function is over, ensure all equipment is put back in the proper area.
- Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.
- Complete special projects as requested by banquet management.
- Able to carry at least 8 entrée plates on plate up events.
- Able to track and account for all needed consumption sheets for food and beverage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum 5 years previous Banquet serving experience required, preferably in a Hotel/Casino environment with the ability to carry a tray overhead. Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance. Thorough knowledge of proper service and food and beverage knowledge a must.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years of banquet serving experience
- Minimum age requirement is 21
- Possess TAM card and Health Card
