The Bank Teller Float is a part-time position required to work from various branch locations as needed to help fill scheduling vacancies. The Bank Teller Float provides excellent customer service by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of customers by referring them to appropriate departments in the bank. Every other Saturday coverage is a requirement for the role.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting the public and providing excellent customer service.
- Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the Teller line.
- Cross-sell bank products and services.
- Maintain proper supplies and quantity at the workstation.
- Answer phone calls, file paperwork, process mail.
- Properly answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories.
- Scan all Teller work through system.
- Operate coin counting machine.
- Ensure the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) checks are conducted, as applicable.
- Verify cash and endorsement, receive proper identification for cash back, and issue receipts of deposit when receiving checking savings deposits, or cashing checks.
- Verify payment amount and issue receipts when accepting loan payments and payoffs.
- Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete Hold Notices.
- Process savings withdrawals.
- Identify counterfeit currency.
- Transfer money between customer’s accounts when requested.
- Process cash advances and redeem US Savings Bonds.
- Issue cashier’s checks.
- Accept county property tax payments.
- Process safe deposit payments.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensure teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
- Balance drawer daily, including periodic verification of cashed check totals.
- Open and check the night deposit.
- Verify money going into the vault and balancing the vault.
- Travel to various branch locations as scheduled and/or needed.
- Follow all Bank policies and procedures.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Cash handling or sales experience preferred.
- Prior Customer Service experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to prioritize and make on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with Bank exposure to loss or fraud.
- Mathematical skills
- In-depth knowledge of all bank deposit products and policies.
- Basic knowledge of bank loan, trust, and investment center products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to cross sell- in store branches.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Lift up to 50lbs of coin when needed.
- Occasional lifting of storage boxes may also be necessary.
