Baker /Pastry (Bell Gardens, Ca.)

Parkwest Bicycle Casino is looking for a Baker/Pastry to make and decorates cakes, french pastries, cookies, bread, donuts, pies, puddings, and all desserts ordered by the Executive Chef by performing the following duties.

1. Makes rolls and whole breads in accordance with the Pastry Chef's recipes.
2. Keeps works station in sanitary condition to meet the standards of the Health Department.
3. Rotates products to ensure freshness.
4. Dates all fresh products according to the Executive Chef's directions.
5. Immediately reports and breakdown or malfunction of equipment to the pastry Chef.
6. Prepares pizza dough and all other items requested by the kitchen.
7. Helps prepare for the daily buffet, carving all meats for buffet and banquets.
8. Picks up requested orders from the Storeroom and Stockroom.
9. Ensures proper and economical use of equipment, supplies and facility.
10. Has a thorough understanding of safety and emergency policies and procedures.
11. Must be available to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
12. Other job-related duties as assigned.

• Must have served an apprenticeship for Pastry Cook.
• At least have three (3) years experience as a Baker, Pastry Cook or Donut Maker in a high volume operation.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• This position requires active CALIFORNIA FOOD HANDLERS Certification and/or Card.
• Open availability to work Day Shift, overtime and on call when needed. 
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment employee permit, badge or license.
• Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
• Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background.
