Backend Developer

The Backend Developer is a vital member of our team, focusing on the programming, development, and maintenance of the back-end aspects of our websites and applications. This role demands a candidate with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for optimizing web functionalities. The ideal candidate should be adept at managing tasks and lists throughout the development process, ensuring the quality, budget, and timeline of projects are maintained, all while aligning with the client's objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and development teams to build and enhance the back-end functionalities of websites and web applications.
• Write efficient, clean, well-documented PHP code for WordPress plugin development and other back-end tasks.
• Implement, maintain, and optimize back-end functionalities, ensuring compatibility and performance across different environments.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of back-end features, ensuring robust and reliable website and application performance.
• Integrate third-party REST APIs and manage the integration of payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal.
• Stay informed on the latest back-end technologies and industry best practices to refine skills and knowledge continuously.
• Optimize websites for performance, focusing on code efficiency and database query optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex back-end issues, providing technical support and guidance as required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in PHP/MySQL for back-end web development.
• Experience in building and deploying WordPress custom plugins.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with frameworks like Vue.js, jQuery, AJAX, and JSON.
• Familiarity with Linux hosting environments, including cPanel, SSH, and command line usage.
• Experience with CSS pre-processors (Sass or Less) and Git or other source control platforms.

Preferences

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a web development or digital marketing agency.
• Familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
• Experience in fully responsive web design technologies and website optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
