Currently, we have a great opportunity to assume additional leadership responsibilities as the Back-Up Shipping & Receiving Team Leader. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager, Michael Biggs, and will be responsible for the safety and productivity of all shipping & receiving employees on their team, when the Team Leader is unavailable. Additionally, the back-Up Team Leader position will be responsible for ensuring that work activities scheduled for completion are executed in a safe and timely manner and within all quality parameters. They are also responsible to provide input in both the hiring and performance management processes. This is a working leader role and the selected candidate will be expected to perform these duties in addition to their normal Shipping & Receiving duties.
Primary Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all employees by coaching and instruction on safe behaviors
- Cultivate safe and empowered team work environment by coaching and instructing employee
- Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours
- Support and enforce all safety, quality and productivity related systems/procedures
- Identify issues and communicate with leadership regarding safety, production, quality, personnel or any other operational issues
- Manage and coordinate the training program for new employees
- Participate in the hiring and performance management process as required by leadership
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by developing ideas and assisting with implementation
- Work with team to maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with housekeeping standards
- Investigate, document and submit incidents reports (spills, injuries, near misses or other safety related events) to leadership and safety
- Perform related JDE functions
- Manage team schedule to ensure appropriate levels of staffing at all times; approve time off requests and weekly hours worked
- Assist with reviewing operating procedures and work orders
- Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictate.

- 3 years of experience in a shipping & receiving role preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Experience working with JD and/or Microsoft Suite a plus
- Ability to lead and coach others
