What You'll Do:
Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Cloud Architect. You will have a hands-on leadership and implementation role in architecting, configuring, implementing, and/or migrating IT systems, services, and applications from an on-premises environment to Azure cloud environments, including Azure Government Community Cloud and Azure Gov Cloud (moderate).
You will also be responsible for supporting the development and maturation of Azure Gov Cloud tenants, subscriptions, landing zones, networking, security, and infrastructure through implementation of Microsoft Azure best practices and infrastructure as code (IaC). The ideal candidate will bring a blend of subject matter expertise, effective leadership capabilities, hands-on Azure and IaC technical skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Preferrence for a DC Metro area candidate that can join the team and customer in-person 1 day per week/when needed.**
- Work with Office of the CIO (OCIO) groups to architect and design Azure environments, infrastructure, and services that enable migration of IT infrastructure, services, applications, and systems from an on-prem environment to Azure.
- Develop and implement scalable and resilient Cloud Architecture solutions within an Azure Gov Cloud environment.
- Develop and implement migration strategies for Microsoft Office business tools and solutions from local on premises hosted environment to Azure cloud tenants.
- Architect and administer Microsoft Entra ID.
- Create and implement a migration plan for each infrastructure service, system, and/or application that will be transitioned to Azure.
- Create architecture and data flow diagrams for hybrid cloud environments.
- Design and deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and PowerShell.
- Ensure systems, applications, and data are high availability, backed up, and/or replicated to meet organizational requirements for disaster and business recovery.
- Analyze and ensure that proper monitoring and alerting systems are in place for systems, services, and applications.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure services based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate Azure solutions into existing systems and applications.
- Ensure seamless interoperability between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Implement and enforce Federal security requirements to protect Azure-based systems and data.
- Create comprehensive documentation for Cloud Architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Stay abreast of Azure security updates and industry trends to proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Azure resources, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Implement best practices for resource utilization, cost management, and scalability.
- Collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 7+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, primarily as an Azure solution engineer.
- 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure-Based Processes: Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Facilities Management, Performance Tuning, Asset Management, Disaster Recovery, Data Center support, Server Virtualization
- Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, etc.
- Proven experience in migrating, designing, and implementing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform for Federal government clients.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Architecture patterns, best practices, and industry standards.
- Expertise in scripting and using automation tools like PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Terraform.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively across a broad range of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is highly desirable.
