An up-and-coming European-style bakery café in the heart of Falls Church City is seeking Front of House Team Members. FOH Team Members play a key role in creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for all. They must be passionate about food and coffee, and able to provide an excellent guest experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Duties will include:
- Greeting and interacting with guests, creating an environment that is friendly, positive and down-to-earth while ensuring exceptional customer service at all levels.
- Sharing detailed knowledge and answering questions about who we are and what we serve, such as suggesting menu items to our guests.
- Handling orders and taking payments using the cash register.
- Bagging, boxing and wrapping orders for guests ordering to-go, and delivering food to tables for guests dining-in.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy appearance in FOH area, ensuring that work environment is clean, organized, safe and healthy.
- Efficiently setting up, breaking down, and cleaning FOH area, taking advantage of slower periods to prepare for or clean-up following busy periods.
- Interacting with guests to inquire about food quality and ensure that service is up to their expectations.
- Recording all customer feedback and reporting it to supervisor, and taking immediate action to rectify a problem in the case of an unhappy customer.
- Upholding food safety and quality standards by maintaining and regularly cleaning/sanitizing of workstations.
- Contributing to a positive team environment. Taking initiative when a need is identified, and performing other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
