SUMMARY: The Avionic Technician I must demonstrate high mechanical aptitude and will inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aircraft components while maintaining a safe work environment and following all company and federal rules/ regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics/accessories/oxygen equipment.
- Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
- Maintain all shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational conditions.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.
- Perform work assignments as determined by the shop lead.
- Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
- Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Records information and accomplishes the work assignments in compliance with the inspection procedures manual in quality policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree
- 3+ year of relevant/technical work experience OR
- An additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings
- The ability to teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft accessory/avionic/oxygen units to the component level.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
- Must be computer literate, and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of specific work experience
- Strong knowledge of avionic components
- Strong knowledge of accessory components
- Strong knowledge of oxygen components
- Digital selector panels
- FCC General Radio Telephone license
