JOB DESCRIPTION: AVIONICS TECHNICIAN

Our team is available 24/7 with two full maintenance hangars, our 22,000 sq. ft. facility here in Boca Raton and our 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Opa Locka. Both are equipped with highly skilled technicians and the tooling necessary to deliver quality, cost effective service. We service Challenger, Eclipse, Falcon, Gulfstream, Hawker, and Learjet aircraft.
Position purpose:
The Avionics Technician is responsible for performing aircraft line troubleshooting avionics systems in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the FAA and Boca Aircraft Maintenance.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
v Perform avionics line maintenance and avionics installations.
v Must be able to read, understand and accomplish maintenance manual procedures.
v Have a strong understanding of interfacing, troubleshooting, and installation of the latest avionics equipment.
v Troubleshoot and repair all avionics systems in an efficient and safe manner.
v Must be able to perform assigned task with minimal supervision.
v Quality of work must meet or exceed requirements as outlined in the Company Inspections Procedures Manual.
v Maintain a working knowledge of airworthiness standards and FAA regulations with the ability to find the needed information in various publications to establish standards and verify airworthiness of repairs, modifications and installations.
v Assist with general aircraft inspections as needed.
Qualifications:
v High School diploma or equivalent.
v Airframe and Power Plant License. Minimum, three years transport category jet aircraft related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
v The successful applicant MUST have at least 5 to 7 years of line troubleshooting experience. Experience on Citation, King-Air, Lear-jet recommended, Dassault, Gulfstream, Challenger or Hawker experienced is preferred.
v Must be capable and knowledgeable to perform 91.411 and 91.413 inspections.
v Have a complete understanding of IFR ramp equipment or equivalent.
v Be knowledgeable in the following areas; Autopilots, Flight Directors, Multi-Function Displays, basic EFIS systems, Nav/Comms, Dme/Transponders, FMS, ADF and Radar
v FAA A&P certification, FCC certification or Electrical Degree preferred. Inspection Authorization or any factory schooling is also highly desirable.
v Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
v Have the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
v Be able to effectively present information to supervisor and shift lead.
v Provide own common aircraft hand tools.
v Proficient in Computer applications: MSWord, Excel, and the Internet.
v Show proficiency with avionics test equipment and inspection tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces
- Ability to perform work on scaffolding or ladders
- Must be able to lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time; over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs
- Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to Stand/Sit 80% of the time
- Must be able to walk 10-20% of the time Must be able to Talk/Hear 100% of the time and well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft
