Form of workPeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.
The Software Engineering candidates will be members of a team supporting the Future Vertical Lift program by developing unique software solutions and exploring new technologies in the realm of avionics communications and testing. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will be a key player in this initiative that the government will rely upon, opening doors to limitless career growth and exciting prospects in the defense industry.
The ideal candidate will have proven skills in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code and architecting of software products and tools from the ground up.
Duties
- Development of software tools to support specification, modeling, integration and testing of CMOSS/SOSA components
- Understand customer requirements and design prototype solutions to address them
- Contribute to automated testing frameworks to maintain code quality
- Creation of and design of prototype testbeds to verify software quality and conformance
- Deploy DevSecOps pipelines for software development projects
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience with embedded C/C++ programming and Python
- Experience with SOLID principles and design
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Experience with Git version control
- Good verbal and written communication skills and must be able to work independent
- Travel: 10 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science
Desired Skills:
- Familiar with Modular Open Systems Approaches (MOSA)
- Knowledge of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) technical standard
- Familiarity with airworthiness standards such as DO-178C and DO-254
- Exposure to DevSecOps with knowledge of common tools and platforms
- Exposure to avionics and radio communications equipment
- Familiarity with SOSA and CMOSS Standards
