To operate and maintain Global Unmanned Spray Systems using a command center consisting of a pickup truck with a computer and GPS system. Each unit can operate 4 GUSS sprayers to participate in spraying, herbicide, and fertilization operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The grove manager and supervisors will determine the requirements of the position. Some of the functions which incumbents will be required to perform include:
Responsible for mapping the groves and building the routes in which the GUSS will travel
Direct the mix trucks and communicate with chemical mixing operators
Communicate with GUSS Inc. headquarters in California for improvements, troubleshooting, updates
Daily maintenance of the GUSS equipment
Assist with new operators and to expand the GUSS program
Must be able to operate Autonomous Equipment competently and safely to perform procedures such as spraying, herbicide, mowing
Demonstrate competency to operate and attach/hook-up all grove equipment, implements and vehicles, except for specialized heavy equipment
Visually inspect equipment and vehicles daily and report deficiencies
Demonstrate and practice the ability to follow all safety rules and regulations
Keep work area and equipment/supplies clean. Clean equipment
Work a nine and a half (9) hour shift and extended hours, as necessary. Work weekends as required
The above list is not all-inclusive. All CCLP employees contribute to the efficient operation of the grove and perform any work as directed by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:Requires minimum vision standards, depth perception, and adequate pulmonary function test.
Requires standing, walking, and sitting, for extended periods.
Requires performance of repetitive stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Requires moving of materials and equipment up to fifty (50) pounds over distances of ten (10) feet or more.
Ability to work at heights up to twenty (20) feet or more.
Must be able to demonstrate regular attendance.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
Equipment:
Farm equipment and vehicles, implements, computer equipment, and all safety equipment as required by the company policy and OSHA.
Job Location and Work Conditions:
Work is performed in all grove and nursery locations. Work requires exposure to all temperature and weather extremes, moving equipment, wetness, dust, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, fuel, lubricants and walking on soft sand and hard, rough, uneven surfaces.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Non-Essential Functions:
Attend and participate in company safety programs.
Attend and participate in company meetings as a team member.
Make suggestions for continued operational improvement.
Performs other functions as required.
