Automobile Technician/Mechanic Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining vehicles
- Keeps work area clean and tidy
Automobile Technician/Mechanic Job Decription:
- Work with Service Manager to understand customers' concerns and properly diagnose the issue
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles/troubleshooting; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, replacing filters, tire rotations, and brake repairs
- Works closely with Service Writer to acuately order needed parts for repairs
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by reading operator complaints via Service Writer's Repair Order; repairing mechanical malfunctions; replacing parts and components
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine and safety
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs on Repair Orders
- Spends time explaining the vehicle repair needs to Service Manager
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 per week
