Automotive Service Technician

Strosnider Chevrolet is seeking experienced and entry level AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIANS for our Hopewell, Prince George County, location.

Our technicians are the backbone of the dealership, serving our customers with top notch Automotive Service and used car reconditioning. As an AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN with higher skilled-levels, you will perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to serving in specialized areas of repair.

As an AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN with limited or entry level experience, you will be asked to perform light maintenance and repairs which include lube, oil, and filter changes, balancing and rotation of tires and flushing cooling systems and is an entry-level position.

Automotive service experience is preferred, certifications are a plus! We will provide paid training for honest, hardworking, and determined candidates.

This position is a FULL-TIME position, with some weekends. We work Monday through Friday 7:30AM-5PM or 8:30AM-6:00PM and some Saturday’s from 7:30AM to 12PM.

What YOU will be doing as an AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

• Perform work as outlined on repair order in coordination with the service advisor with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.
• Sell lubrication, safety inspection and other related services. Maintains related records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone, mail or personal reminders.
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels, replenish as necessary.
• Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and other events.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keep the shop area neat and clean.
• Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
• Understand and keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Report any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned.
