Greystone Automotive Group is an Automotive Service leader focused on providing the highest level of customer service. We are looking for an Automotive Service Advisor / Writer for our locations in the Galleria & Sugar Land areas. The candidate will provide a World Class Customer Service Experience to all Greystone Automotive Group internal & external customers on the phone, in person and throughout the entire repair process. Service Advisor is the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the repair process from the point of drop-off through the delivery of the completed vehicle. The candidate is responsible for coordinating communications with all other (internal & external) stakeholders during the repair process.

Responsibilities:
- Ascertain automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules
- Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
- Develop estimates by costing parts and labor required for the repair order
- Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required
- Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
- Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
- Communicate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Professional personal appearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school not required but a plus
- 2 to 4 years of experience in an auto repair facility
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, repair terminology and processes
- Proficient knowledge of Tekmetric estimating software
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a plus but not required
- Cash handling experience is preferred
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
