Job Responsibilities:
- Assists, guides, leads & directs the full, lifecycle recruiting process to assist stores identify and hire entry level, experienced and Master level automotive technicians for Hudson Automotive dealerships.
- Partners with the CHRO / Human Resources to successfully administer and manage the Hudson Automotive Technician Development Program.
- Partners with the CHRO / Human Resources and Fixed Operations team to identify Colleges, Universities, Technical and Trade Schools to develop relationships with, while building a pipeline of current and future Tech candidates.
- Partners with the CHRO / Human Resources to create, design, and maintain weekly and monthly analytics reporting to track open TECHNICIAN positions, bench needs, candidates in process, status in the interview process and hires.
- Build and drive innovative strategies to improve quality candidate generation through vendor tools, recruiting technology solutions, and other platforms such as social media, web-based advertising, mobile, etc.
- Review applications, conduct phone screens & or face to face interviews, then forwards to the appropriate Hiring Managers for further consideration in the interview process.
- Works with Fixed Operations and Dealership Leadership to review, edit and create recruiting materials that advertise our positions in a positive manner and drive high applicant interest.
- Work with store GM's and Service Directors to maximize shop productivity by assisting in setting up the best shop structure (Lateral support, Teams, Dispatcher, etc.).
- Attend advisory board meetings at Technical schools and High Schools to help attract new technicians, build instructor-store manager relationships, and create better training methods.
- Track technician growth within the group and enhance our volume.
- Have A.S.E. training classes regionally to help promote our groups certification levels.
- Create and enhance express lube and express service programs.
- Manage flat rate hour production hours growth and work with management to increase performance.
- Train and develop group leaders, dispatchers, shop foreman of tomorrow.
- Stay current with the latest brand technology and make sure stores do the same.
- Assists in the validation of shop training compliance at all locations.
- When feasible, attends Colleges, Universities, Technical and Trade Schools "career fairs and hiring events".
- Periodically travels and visits dealerships with partners to participate in interviews.
- May conduct both virtual and in-person interview skills training and educate and ensure Technician professional development.
- Partners with the HR, Fixed Operations and Dealerships to create mentor programs and career paths for newly acquired technicians.
- Works with Fixed Operations, Human Resources and Dealership Leadership Team with the development and execution of the new hire orientation and on-boarding training programs for newly hired technicians
- Attends regular staff and/or committee meetings as required.
- Other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of high-volume technical experience in the automotive industry Required
- 2-5 years of experience; comfortable speaking, presenting & facilitating training to both small and large groups
- 2-5 years of experience in the design of automotive technical training content and materials preferred
- Experience utilizing various applicant tracking systems
- Microsoft Proficient
- Must be able to teach, coach and train Technicians for multiple automotive brands
- Experience utilizing HRIS systems such as Paycom is preferred
- Experience with recruitment / employee on-boarding / employee training and development
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Professional dress / business casual attire required
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, time management, organization, and customer service skills
- Bilingualism is not required but can be very helpful
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background check, drug test and motor vehicle report is required
