Job Overview: As the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum Manager, you will be responsible for the public engagement, marketing, event planning and curation of the Automobile Museum.
This position requires an interest in automobiles and experience with marketing and event planning.
Responsibilities:
1) Public Engagement:
- Plan and promote museum special events to generate renvue and enhance visitor engagement.
- Engage with museum visitors through guided tours, lectures, and interactive programs to promote understanding and appreciation of the automobile collection.
- Foster partnerships with automotive enthusiasts, collectors, and industry stakeholders to expand the museum's network.
- Coordinate events held on and off site.
2) Exhibition Development:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase attendance and revenues.
- Maintain all digital marketing platforms with regular updates.
- Plan, design, and curate exhibitions that showcase the museum's automobile collection, utilizing and engaging displays and marketing.
- Conduct accurate and thorough research on automobile history, technology, and cultural significance.
3) Retail Operations:
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area.
4) Collection Management:
- Maintain the museum's automobile collection, including acquiring, cataloging, and conserving automobiles.
- Conduct regular assessments of the collection to identify preservation needs, prioritize conservation efforts, and ensure compliance with museum standards.
- Keep track of all museum assets and maintain records of ownership records.
- Works with entire staff ensuring proper training, operating coverage and all museum requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Retail experience, preferably in a museum or gift shop.
- Knowledge of marketing a business through social media platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse museum visitors.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, automotive history, technology, and cultural significance, with a focus on classic and vintage automobiles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
