Job Description
The Automation Controls Engineer will, engineer, construct and or supervise the construction of and installation of automated and robotic paint finishing systems.
· Provide hands-on technical engineering and design support for industrial projects.
· Influence and support the design and implementation of new standard equipment.
· Drive productivity through strategic use of technology.
· Provide technical assistance and support to reduce/eliminate issues associated with equipment, performance, quality, and safety.
· Establish relationships with contractors and carry out procedures based on site and corporate engineering standards in the highest professional and ethical basis.
Desired Skills & Experience:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering
· Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience.
· 3 or more years’ experience programming PLCs (AB, Factory Talk Studio, C-more preferred)
· 3 or more years’ experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
· 3 or more years’ experience with low voltage and high voltage 3 phase systems
· Ability to read and modify electrical prints using AutoCAD.
· Strong Mechanical aptitude
· Have the ability to travel up to 25%
· Experienced in programming PLC's, specifically Allen Bradley
· Understanding of industrial network infrastructures, including Ethernet and Device Net.
· Familiarity with HMI's – C-more and PanelView.
· Exposure to technologies such as RFID, vision systems, and robots
· Good interpersonal skills
· Competent in various PC related skills including MS Excel, MS Word, email, and the Internet.
· Possess the ability to interact in a team environment with customers, other employees, and groups.
· Support the installation of both mechanical and software controls.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in mechatronics engineering or other related fields
· Familiarity with CAD or Solidworks software
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
· Deadline and detail-oriented
· Robot (Fanuc, ABB) troubleshooting and programming a plus
· Paint finishing systems experience a plus.
