We are devoted to giving our customers quality automotive repairs. We are seeking a Body Shop Painter who is committed to safety practices and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
Auto Body Shop Painter Job Summary:
As an Auto Body Shop Painter, you will be responsible for meticulously applying paint finishes to vehicles, ensuring high-quality results and customer satisfaction. Utilizing your expertise in paint mixing, spraying techniques, and color matching, you will contribute to restoring damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition or enhancing their appearance.
Auto Body Shop Painter Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and applying primer as necessary.
- Mix paint to match vehicle color using paint mixing equipment and computerized color matching systems.
- Apply paint finishes using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and smooth texture.
- Blend and feather paint edges to achieve seamless transitions between old and new paint.
- Perform quality inspections to detect imperfections and make necessary adjustments or corrections.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and technical guidelines for paint application and curing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Coordinate with other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Auto Body Shop Painter Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Shop Painter.
- Proficiency in paint mixing, color matching, and application techniques.
- Knowledge of automotive paint systems, including water-based and solvent-based paints.
- Familiarity with various types of paint finishes, such as metallic, pearl, and matte.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, including paint codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise painting tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Certification or training in paint brands required (Axalta, PPG, etc).
Auto Body Shop Painter Pay:
Commission based on amount of work completed. The average is $23/hour
