Autism Aide

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Autism Aide for our Giant Steps program.

Giant Steps is a day-treatment program for preschool-aged children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder either before or at the time of assessment. Our unit has six classrooms with a capacity of 12 children, serving a total of 72 preschoolers and their families. For those with a specific interest in the areas of Autism Studies, Early Childhood Development, or Elementary Education and needing or wanting some experience in the field of Mental/Behavioral Health, come join us!

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday (Between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM)

Compensation: $16.41 - $20.79 per hour (depending on experience)

Additional compensation available for Spanish speakers, after testing proficiency.

Essential Functions: (Performs all or some of the following)

Assists to perform specialized therapeutic interaction for autistic children

Implements and monitors individual and group behavior plans

Observes children's interests and actions

Provides for a safe interactive environment

Encourages and models social behavior and expectations

Interprets test results and participates in the development of curriculum and behavioral/treatment plans

Participates in staff meetings

Performs daily data entry into client records

Performs general case monitoring and management

Carries out resolutions and behavior plans

Teaches hygiene and social independent living skills

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; AND One (1) year post high school education in social work, psychology or a related field; AND One (1) year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
