We are an established, growing public accounting and financial services firm in the northwestern and western suburbs of Chicago seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Perform audits in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
- Participate in audits for employee benefit plans, risk-pools, for-profit entities and non-profit entities
- Perform financial statement compilations and reviews
- Perform non-attest services related to attest clients
- Assist with the preparation of non-profit informational returns for attest clients
- Responsible for examining and reporting on internal controls
- Prepare work papers to adequately document audit work performed and to support conclusions reached
- Learn the processes of the firm and support senior staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Progress professionally by working toward obtaining a CPA certificate
- Internship experience in public accounting is a plus
- Appreciate the importance of complying with deadlines and schedules
- Adept at technology and accounting software
- Solid communication, organization and analytical skills
- Ability to work well with a team and able to work independently
- Committed to professional development and willingness to contribute to the growth of the firm

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers choice of two different health insurance plans, dental and vision insurance, employer paid short-term and long-term disability insurance and life insurance, up to four weeks paid time off (PTO) your first full year, seven paid holidays and one floating holiday, support for continuing professional education (CPE) and the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) with a matching employer contribution.
Our office is family-friendly, offering opportunities to work both in the office or remotely, with flex-time schedules and summer hours available.
