Audit Readiness Research Assistant

We are looking for an Audit Readiness Research Assistant to join our team in supporting the Army Material Command (AMC).

Your day-to-day work will include:

Providing Audit Readiness support and activities, including the execution of audits and remediation of weaknesses within business processes and internal controls. Tasks will include:

• Supporting audit remediation activities, including documenting, developing, and updating process documentation (e.g. narratives and workflow charts), as well as developing and implementing corrective action plans to address findings.
• Conducting, designing, and executing recurring testing, such as testing internal controls.
• Performing and reviewing statement analysis, financial information, reporting results, and financial statement audit report analysis.

At a minimum you should have:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal SECRET security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field OR 5+ years of relevant work experience, particularly in with the Army Working Capital Fund business process areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel
  • Demonstrated management skills (i.e. organization, prioritization, problem-solving, stakeholder communication)

You will be highly desirable if you have:

• An active and current SECRET federal security clearance from the DoD
• Experience supporting DoD stakeholders and DoD/Army Financial Management
• Experience with the Army Working Capital Fund
• Providing assessments and improvements of financial statement auditability
• Applying pertinent financial accounting standards advisory board (FASAB) policies and federal financial management systems requirements
• Performing financial statement audits, Audit Readiness services or audit remediation and sustainment services within DoD or another Federal Government agency or department
• Experience in internal controls documentation and/or testing
