We are looking for an Audit Manager to work in our Lakewood, NJ office.
Job Summary:
As an Audit Manager at HFA, you will be responsible for leading and managing audit engagements for our diverse client base. You will oversee a team of audit professionals, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality audit services. The Audit Manager will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment within the audit team.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate to define audit strategy and objectives in consultation with senior manager/partner.
- Manage multiple audit engagements and competing priorities.
- Monitor team’s process against plan and alter when necessary.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Understand and manage firm risk on audits and proposals.
- Develop high-performing people and teams.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback or onsite training.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to client engagements.
- Cultivate and manage business development opportunities.
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient utilization and profitability for the firm.
- Uphold the firm's ethical standards, ensuring integrity, objectivity, and independence in all audit activities.
Applicants must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- 5-8 years of progressive public accounting audit and/or assurance experience.
- Experience with not-for-profit clients and/or employee benefit plans.
- Advanced knowledge of CCH ProSystem Engagement.
- Reliable transportation to and from client locations.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities, excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
