The Audio/Video Production Intern contributes to Areya Media’s mission by engaging audiences across Areya Media’s digital and social platforms.
We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented intern to join our team in creating engaging video interviews and social media content. Looking for someone well versed in Hip Hop & R&B music and culture. Your responsibilities will include researching interview subjects/topics and setting up shoots to editing, archiving, and uploading the finished pieces to YouTube and Snapchat. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable skills in the exciting world of video production and social media management.
Programs (proficient to expert-level competency)
- Photoshop / Canva
- Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
- Audacity or Audition or Pro Tools
- Social Media publishing tools like Hootsuite, or Sprout Social
Responsibilities:
- Researching interview subjects, uncover fresh angles, and develop compelling narratives that capture the essence of OkayPlayer's mission.
- Assist with pre-production (scripts, storyboards, shot lists), camera operation (preferred, but not essential), and lighting setup for on-location interviews.
- Edit raw footage in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or CapCut with a rhythmic flow, adding music, sound effects, and graphics.
- Create Thumbnails, Memes, Gifs, etc on canva.
- Organizing video archive.
- Post finished videos onto YouTube and Snapchat, optimizing titles, descriptions, and thumbnails.
- Track video performance and engagement on social media, providing insights and suggesting strategies for growth.
The Audio/Video intern should not only be culturally relevant but should BE a part of the culture itself. The designer should know what it takes to make a piece of work, or a brand, famous, newsworthy, and deserving of people’s time and attention.
