We currently have an opportunity for an Audio Visual Engineer to support a large global environment.  At least 7+ years of AV experience in a Global Financial Services, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Act as the single point of contact for all support, maintenance and troubleshooting of the audiovisual and videoconference Troubleshooting and support will be limited to steps that will not void any warranty currently in place with preferred audiovisual integrator.
  • Set up and configuration of Cisco and Polycom video conferencing units.
  • Build rooms around Microsoft Teams and Zoom capabilities.
  • Provide the first line of communication and support with preferred AV service vendor(s) for all problems and issues regarding the AV equipment, including the coordinating points of integration (i.e., systems and infrastructure as it relates to the audiovisual and videoconference
  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment/systems in integrated conference rooms, including but not limited to, control systems (e.g., Crestron and AMX), matrix switchers (e.g., Extron).
  • Assess business impact of serious/complex outages/problems and make recommendations collaborating with engineers and project managers.
  • Compile and maintain room and equipment inventory
  • Maintain conference room integrity in compliance with standard operating procedures, perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address troubles such as cable management issues, safety standards noncompliance, etc.)
  • Coordinate audio-visual activities with other Client groups as required (e.g., facilities, IT, )

 

  • Install small or portable videoconference and non-integrated AV
  • Provide technical consultation, support, and act as lead contact for all video conferencing operations and
  • Recommend measures to improve performance and increase
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural
  • Field service support of AV/VTC endpoints and infrastructure (Microsoft Teams/Zoom/Cisco/AMX/Crestron/etc.).
  • Perform Service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner
  • Provide necessary training and support for next level service technicians
  • Adhere to and understand OSHA standards
  • Travel to various job sites as required

Skills required:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience operating audiovisual, multimedia, broadcast, and computing systems.
  • Extensive background in audiovisual systems engineering, maintenance, and operational support
  • Experience engineering and managing the videoconferencing portions of construction and renovation projects
  • Experience assessing the audio and visual capabilities and limitations of existing rooms and designing new spaces for optional use
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial audiovisual, videoconferencing, multimedia, and broadcast manufacturers.
  • Understanding of networking, servers, infrastructure, phone systems, architecture, and applications and how these integrate with a VC platform
  • Understanding of various videoconference platforms including Cisco, Poly, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and others.
  • Understanding of operations of various audiovisual control systems including AMX, Extron, and Crestron
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable, and punctual
  • Avixa (Infocomm) Industry Certified CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) preferred but not required
  • Assist in performing maintenance and preventive maintenance on existing AV equipment
  • Technical recommendations and evaluation of innovative technology regarding videoconference technology.
  • Proficient in broad range of A/V Presentation Technology applications.
  • Evaluate and test new technology.
  • Provide input required for recommendations/system design for new and existing technologies.
  • Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of basic to advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic AV network and connection issues to UCC platforms
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects
  • Minor programming capability (AMX/Crestron) - changes and troubleshooting
  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule in order to service clients throughout the business day and be available for after hours service as necessary

This position is onsite 5 days a week in New York City paying a salary between $120-130k annually.
