Shure offers a challenging, fun and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.
The Shure Strategic Technology Team is looking for an Audio Video Test Intern to help research, develop, test, and validate novel product features and use cases enabled by machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will test and validate audio and video signal processing techniques based in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence by working closely with data scientists and DSP engineers in a research group to objectively test, automate development, and improve algorithm tuning and performance.

This Internship can be Onsite or Hybrid.
- Work collaboratively with data scientists and engineers to create and execute on test plans to identify areas of improvement and validate expected functionality of audio and video machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Develop regressions tests and possibly subjective listening tests whose execution and results are understandable and repeatable by other team members.
- Identify test strategies that further elucidate the relationships between system performance and system input.
- Use scripting tools to automate tests using python, Matlab, C/C++, etc. where possible
- Document results, organize outputs, and effectively communicate results to team members.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with coursework in computer programming.
- An interest in audio is required, experience with audio and/or video of any kind preferred.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Matlab, Ruby, PHP, etc.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
